Additional
Background Information
Getting
promoted into a management role should be a career highlight.
Promotion is
recognition of a person's resourcefulness and initiative.
So why do people seem to
lose their way and become lacklustre and stressed when they
start managing other
people? The answer is quite simple. They have never been shown
how to do it,
so they try to work harder or longer to compensate. It does
not work like that! This
workshop can be used proactively to prepare a person for a
new role as a manager
or supervisor. It can also be used to underpin existing managers
and supervisors
who need to improve their skills. The content assumes that
delegates have
a fairly low knowledge and skills base in this area.
