Additional Background Information
Few people in organisations look forward to going to meetings. After all, they tend to be a great waste of valuable time in a busy organisational environment. So why does the number of meetings called keep on increasing? The reason is simple. Most modern organisations operate business processes that need people to work collaboratively across functions. People depend on one another to get the total job done. The unfortunate thing is that many people are not in a position to get good value out of meetings, because they do not know how to manage them. It is not just a case of starting and finishing on time and sticking to the agenda. That is not even the whole foundation! People need to understand how others process information, how decisions are made and the hidden agendas that are always brought to meetings, even in non-profit making and charitable organisations. This workshop is for the people who want to learn how to make meetings work effectively (doing the right things at the right time) and efficiently (doing things right first time every time).
