Warehousing

Warehousing plays a crucial part in any logistics operation. However with today's technology, some companies tend to hold onto warehousing items where no value is added except cost and delay.

Visology with its logistics experience linked to its web and software expertise can, audit a warehouse operation. This audit would include the role of the warehouse in a company's overall operation. This would include an investigation of suppliers and time of order to time of despatch.

In many cases where companies are selling goods, no value is added by the company. Typical examples are computer supply retailers and e-tailors that order and stock such items as printers, scanners, monitors etc where the item enters and leaves the warehouse in the same box. The only value that is added is the 12 stage process from inbound to final despatch.

In these cases Visology can create a virtual warehouse at the suppliers and as orders come in the order information is passed to the supplier for distribution to the end customer. The "owner" of the stock retains full visibility of the whole process from order to final despatch and delivery to the customer. This reduces cost including valuable warehouse space.

Where a warehouse is required for the temporary storage of goods where value is added, Visology can audit the cost and examine the operation and either offer advice on cost reduction or operational improvements. There is a further opportunity to examine the cost of outsourcing to one of a number of fulfillment companies that Visology utilises on behalf of other clients
